The Department of Physics continues to expand the Physics museum in Broussard Hall. The museum was founded by Dr. John Meriwether to preserve the history of the department, and to document the progress of scientific instruments. Today the former NASA electron accelerating tube joined the collection. The tube also served as a part of the Louisiana Accelerator Center's Van De Graaff accelerator.
