Faculty Spotlight: Charlotte Ochanine

Charlotte Ochanine, MS formally joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as an Instructor in August 2023. However, she has been serving as an instructor for about 10 years. In the past few years, she has also worked with elementary school children at Myrtle Place Elementary, helping them with math and reading. This past summer, she taught math to gifted children at Epsilon Camp in Oxford, Ohio. She received her master's degree in mathematics from the University of Toronto and her bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky. Her main duties in the mathematics department are to teach first and second year math courses required for many majors, such as college algebra, statistics, etc. But she also enjoys participating in the math club when time permits and has been participating in an undergraduate math research project.
