Sciences and Spirits: Celebrating Growth and Connection with California Alumni

The Ray P. Authement College of Sciences recently hosted Sciences and Spirits, a special evening of celebration and connection in Woodside, California. Dean Azmy Ackleh welcomed alumni from across the Bay Area for an event filled with fellowship, pride, and excitement about the College’s continued growth.

Alumni gathered with Dean Ackleh to reconnect with fellow Ragin’ Cajuns and strengthen their connection to the College of Sciences. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the College and its graduates, while also looking toward an exciting future.

Dean Ackleh shared updates on the remarkable growth of the College of Sciences and outlined his vision for the years ahead. Highlights included a discussion of the College’s expanding programs, opportunities for alumni to stay engaged, the possibility of forming a California-based alumni chapter, and a sneak peek at the new Ray P. Authement College of Sciences building currently in development.

The night was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and a shared sense of pride in being part of the Ragin’ Cajun family. Sciences and Spirits not only celebrated the College’s achievements but also strengthened the bonds between alumni and their alma mater, ensuring the spirit of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette continues to thrive far beyond campus.
