Research Opportunities

Are you up for a challenge? You can expand your horizons, increase your knowledge, and gain experience in rigorous scientific and mathematical research by participating in a formal undergraduate research project. There are many opportunities including informal work with one of our faculty, working with one of our faculty on an honors program research project, conducting a formal research program though the UL Lafayette Advance Student Research Experience (ASRE) Pathways program, or participating in a summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.

Please contact the relevant school or department for more information or contact us for help finding your place.

Advance Student Research Opportunities

The UL Lafayette Advance Student Center for Research Creativity and Scholarship (SCRCS) is dedicated to the advancement of research activities that enable undergraduate students to take part in mentored research experiences focusing on scholarly work and creative pursuits.

Please explore all of the resources and opportunities they provide on the Advance Student Research page.

Advance Student Research Experience Pathways

The Advance Student Research Experience (ASRE) Pathways expand research, skills, and hands-on experiences for undergraduate students. Both levels of ASRE Pathways (Distinction and Excellence) will increase your knowledge and marketable skills in research, creativity, and scholarship. By completing the designated courses and co-curricular activities you will earn the Advance attribute on your transcript. The research, skills, and experiences gained by being an Advance scholar will strengthen your resumes and competitiveness!

For more information about participation in this program please contact the relevant school or department or contact us for help finding your place. In addition, please explore all of the details on the ARSE Pathways page.

McNair Scholar Program

UL Lafayette is one of 178 colleges and universities nationwide funded by the McNair Program. The program is designed to prepare students who meet certain eligibility requirements for graduate school. We encourage students to pursue graduate studies by providing opportunities to define goals, to engage in research, and to develop the skills and student/faculty mentor relationship critical to success at the doctoral level. We also assists talented students for acceptance into the graduate programs and helps them with preparation for, admission to, and securance of funding to finance graduate education leading to the doctorate degree.

Please explore the details and opportunities of this program on the McNair Scholar Program page.
