Science Museum

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Science Museum is located in the heart of downtown Lafayette at 433 Jefferson Street in the former Heymann Department Store building.

Serving as a playful portal into a vast universe of discovery, the Lafayette Science Museum offers a fun, hands-on experience for curious minds of all ages. The museum houses exhibits and installations that are sure to enlighten and educate while proving that you’re never too old to learn something new – and, of course, have lots of fun in the process.
The mission of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Science Museum is to provide informative and interactive experiences in STEM fields to the community, K-12 students, and University students, provide innovative research opportunities, and preserve current and future museum collections for use in exhibits, classrooms, and scientific research.
Get involved
Students are encouraged to volunteer to serve as museum docents and to organize or participate in STEM Saturday events. Please reach out to your school or department for information about plans and how you can get involved!
