Yu Wang, PhD joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as an assistant professor in August 2016. He received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry in 2013 from Carnegie Mellon University. During 2011, he was a visiting student at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, University of Goettingen, Goettingen, Germany. He received an MS in Material Science and Engineering in 2008 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and a BS in Polymer Science and Engineering in 2003 from Qingdao University, Qingdao, China.
After receiving his PhD, Dr. Wang was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany during 2015. Then, in 2016, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolecules Végétales, Grenoble, France.
Dr. Wang's research interests are in the areas of Polymer Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, and Nanotechnology. His research focuses on design of well-defined macromolecular architectures and study of their applications, such as in organic electronics and in bio-medical related areas.
